Nearly one in 70 children will be diagnosed with autism. Characterised by slower learning curves and poor interpersonal relationships, there may be hope in the future. Research suggests that levels of copper and zinc within the teeth may be related.
Researchers have discovered:
- Layers of copper and zinc are deposited as baby teeth grow.
- Low levels of these minerals are believed to indicate presence of autism.
- In the future, both autism and ADHD might be revealed in the “growth rings” in baby teeth.
"The researchers said they also plan to use baby teeth to study the association of brain metabolism cycles."
