Babies normally get their first teeth by the first birthday. Therefore, it’s possible for infants to experience symptoms of periodontitis and cavities.
- Lack of proper oral hygiene is the leading cause of infant gum disease. Wipe your infant's mouth with a soft and clean cloth.
- Symptoms of gingivitis in babies include; puffy gum tissue, bleeding, red gums and crying every time they eat.
- Once your baby has two or more teeth, use a baby toothbrush and floss to clean their teeth.
Visit the dentist regularly for checkups.
